SF Servis language school was founded in 1990 by students of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University , Prague. From the very beginning, it focused on teaching Czech for foreigners and English. Such a narrow specialization enabled the preparation of top-quality, efficient programs and the setting up of a team of qualified, experienced and efficient language teachers, recruited mainly from students and graduates of the Faculty of Arts.
Research carried out by the Prague Business Journal / Book of Lists 2003 shows that SF Servis is one of the most successful Prague language schools from the number of students of Czech for foreigners courses, as well as the number of courses offered.
At present, we offer trimestral, semestral and intensive classes and individual classes as well as in-company courses where the instruction is tailored to the student's and company's needs.
Since 1990, SF Servis has annually offered an intensive summer language and culture program called Summer Prague University (SPU). In this four-week intensive program, language instruction is complemented by thematic workshops, linguistic and literature lectures, guided walks around Prague and other activities and events.
Since 1998, we have organized preparatory seminars for several departments at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. Those who want to study English and American Studies, Czech Language and Literature, Aesthetics or Comparative Literature have the chance to learn about the content and form of the entrance exams and the fields of study, as well as to obtain practical advice for preparation and to test their knowledge through model tests. Participation in these seminars can substantially increase the chance of successfully passing the entrance exams. (The content and program of the seminars are based on information from and cooperation with members of CUFA departments.)
SF Servis also organizes a Culture Program consisting mainly of lectures or a lecture series focusing on language, literature, culture, history, architecture, music, politics, etc. These lectures, held in Czech or English, are delivered by leading experts in the fields. For our clients this is an unusual, yet interesting and easy, way to improve and complete their knowledge of the Czech Republic.
